About Me

How I started Baking

Seven years ago, I left home for the first time and traveled to the USA to pursue a PhD in Molecular Medicine. Needless to say that, at that time, I didn’t know how to cook or bake. However, I was always searching for the perfect recipes that mimic Teta’s food or the familiar taste of Lebanese bakeries and pâtisseries. I decided to learn it all by watching the Great British Baking Show, Youtube videos, professional bakers and, of course, by trial and error. Since then, I’ve got my PhD and still enjoy baking. This blog shares all the comfort food, decadent recipes, and feel-good meals I learned along the way and it gives me the chance to share them with the community and my fellow expats. I am by no means an expert! Just a passionate self-taught baker who experiments in the kitchen when she’s not doing so in the cancer research lab.

Love to all and welcome to Mrs. Sucrée!
